03.16.09 Photo Booth Close

There are people in your life that you love. These people are the people, no matter how many times you say it, you just don't think you can truly show how much you care. You never really can express how close you are. That's where photo booths come in. There's just something about being crammed in to a tight space wearing vintage clothes for an amazing birthday party for an amazing person having an amazing time all while being captured on film. Sharing space in a photo booth is something you only do with those you trust. Those you want on your lap. Those you truly want to share a closeness with.

They say that if you love someone you should let them go. These are just some of those people who are willing to let me go... who are letting me try to see if there is something else somewhere else. These are just some of those people who are close enough to believe in me.

And just like these photo booth pictures, there is no way I could forget the closeness that we've shared. No matter what. No matter where. We will always just be photo booths apart.

You're going. I'm glad. I won't see you around the neighborhood and you won't be serving me my guiness in a warm glass. We won't be discussing fetishes in person. We're not photobooth close and I would be a bit uncomfortable with you in my lap or me in yours. But that doesn't mean I won't miss you or wonder what you are up to or where you've been or with whom you have been hanging around. And while we won't be getting any where near as close as that photobooth closeness we, too, won't be drifing any farther apart than we are today.

Here's to adventure. And happiness. And growing.

Oh, Byron.

How very exciting. You deserve it, I'm so happy for you and even a little bit proud in a weird sort of way.

This does, however, dash my hopes of us ever meeting, shopping together and becoming fast friends albeit across the miles.

Tell me, are you taking your blog with you? Will we get to hear all about it or is it going to be a solo-adventure?

Hugs and love,
Nora

there once lived a girl. the girl met a boy named byron. they rarely saw each other yet the girl thought the world of the boy. it was always like sunshower kisses when she saw him b/c he was fun, exciting, creative, free. she was really glad to be friends with the boy. then he told her he was moving to a far away land. she may or may not have spewed the phrase "are you trying to ruin my life?" after much thought, the girl is actually very happy for the boy...sunshower kisses happy. but, she hopes they will once meet again in a photobooth in a windy city.....

Byron,
Your ability to capture such emotion with so few words amazes me. You will succeed in anything you put your heart into. I feel lucky to someone with such vision and who embraces his humility. Thanks for including me in your ever entangling web of life.

Here's to photo booth friends!!

XoXoXo
